New Arrival: Emperor, by Stephen Baxter

Just in is the new alternate history novel by Stephen Baxter, Emperor. This is slated to be the first book in his Time's Tapestry series. It follows the story of a Roman family as they struggle to survive over a 400 year period of the rise and fall of Rome by following an ancient prophecy.

Baxter is best known as an author of hard science fiction novels. The Somerset County Library System owns many of his other works.

New Arrival: Maelstrom, by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough

Just in is the new novel by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough, Maelstrom. This book is the sequel to their novel Changeling, and is the second book of The Twins of Petaybee series. It continues the story of telepathic 10 year old twins Murel and Ronan, who have the ability to turn into seals, as they work to save the inhabitants of an endangered planet.
